South African YouTuber and media personality Lasizwe Dambuza has big dreams for next year — and at the top of his list is becoming a father. The 27-year-old star opened up during a SA Rugby and Samsung event in Sandton, Johannesburg, where he shared exclusive details with Independent Media Lifestyle about what fans can expect from him.
Lasizwe revealed that he has a major personal project planned. He said, “What you can expect from me next year, there is one big project I am working on – I am working on getting pregnant.” Although he didn’t explain further, the statement clearly shows that he is stepping into a new chapter of his life, one that he seems excited and hopeful about.
Reflecting on 2025, Lasizwe shared that the year came with both highs and lows. One of the challenges he mentioned was dealing with public conflict online. “One of my lows was fighting publicly online,” he admitted. “I am not someone who appreciates that. I hate fighting online and in general, so that was one of my lows. It took a toll on me, but we bounced back.”
Despite that setback, he still considers this year a success, especially because of the growth of his hit dating series Awkward Dates. The show features Lasizwe going on blind dates with different celebrities, and it has become a fan favourite.
He proudly shared, “This year, definitely my career high was ‘Awkward Dates’ being on DStv and generally just killing the space.” The show’s rise has been a major highlight for him, proving once again that he knows how to create content people love.
As the festive season approaches, Lasizwe plans to slow down and focus on rest after a busy and successful year. He described what a perfect holiday looks like for him: “A Lasizwe summer to me looks like a lot of rest, lots of time indoors, lots of time in the swimming pool, lots of intimate parties with my friends and family, and just spending time with the people I couldn’t see throughout the year.”
The content creator added that he wants to recharge completely before the new year begins. “This festive season, I am out. I am going to regenerate, get back my energy so that in January I can kill it like I killed it this year,” he said.
With dreams of fatherhood and new beginnings, Lasizwe is stepping into next year with hope, confidence and a refreshed spirit.
