The Incredibles, the dynamic duo behind some of Joburg’s boldest Gqom sounds, are turning up the heat with their new single Shibilika, a powerhouse collaboration with DJ Tira and BlaQ Kiidd. The song has already started making waves for its raw, festive, high-energy feel, the kind of sound that instantly pulls people to the dance floor. With its heavy bass, unfiltered Joburg Gqom edge, and undeniable summer spirit, Shibilika marks a major moment in The Incredibles’ journey.

From the classrooms of Pietermaritzburg to influencing South Africa’s nightlife, the duo, made up of childhood friends Adam Dee and Tyson King, have come a long way. When they first created the track, they immediately felt the magic. The beat was intense, the energy was high, and they knew they were crafting a sound perfect for late nights, loud speakers, and celebratory summer moods.

Shibilika also signals a new chapter for them. Alongside the single, they’re gearing up for bigger collaborations, live shows, new merchandise, and even international tours. As they continue shaping the future of Gqom, The Incredibles are proving that the genre is far from fading — in fact, they say it’s “still a force.”

In an exclusive interview with OK Mzansi Magazine, Adam Dee and Tyson King opened up about creating Shibilika, working with DJ Tira, and what’s next for them.

Exclusive Interview with The Incredibles

1. You mentioned feeling a spark in the studio when Shibilika first started coming together. What was that moment, and what made this track feel different from the beginning?

After Adam laid his verse, we knew we had something!! The verse complimented the high energy of the beat. We instantly knew we had to add more fire to complete it.

2. The journey started at NaakMusiq’s studio with BlaQ Kiidd. What did each collaborator contribute to the creative direction of the song?

We all worked on the beat together with. Adam and Dj Tira laid verses.

3. DJ Tira responded immediately when he heard the track. What do you think resonated with him so strongly about Shibilika?

The heavy bass and high energy. It reflects the festive season.

4. This is your first release fully embracing a high-energy, heavier Gqom sound. What pushed you toward this new musical direction?

We knew we wanted to make a song that people had no choice but to dance to. We wanted to make a club banger. We also wanted to fully embrace our sound.

5. You’ve described the song as a “full-circle moment.” How did your Pietermaritzburg roots and early influences shape the making of Shibilika?

It really was a full circle moment. There’s no better feeling than seeing your dreams come true and working with your heroes. We grew up following Afrotainment. To now work with Tira feels magical

6. The track embodies summer energy — fast, raw, and unfiltered. What scenes or lifestyle moments do you imagine when people hear Shibilika?

We imagine summer vibes. People living their best lives. Drop tops in the streets of Durban and Cape Town. Beach vibes, popping bottles and vibing in the club etc.

7. Working with DJ Tira is a milestone for many artists. What was the biggest lesson or insight you gained from creating with him?

He’s taught us how important it is to consistently work hard and to be intentional with everything we do. His work ethic is very inspirational and rubs off into us.

8. You have more collaborations, events, merchandise and international plans in the pipeline. What can fans look forward to from The Incredibles in 2026?

We have big things planned for 26’. We’ll be releasing singles and an EP/Album next year.  You can look forward to big names like PCee, Cowboii, Naakmusiq, TNS and Anele Zondo. We’ll be working on our own gloves, vests, and caps as that is a big part of our identity. We’ll be doing more provincial and international tours.

9. Shibilika positions Gqom as “still a force.” What role do you see yourselves playing in shaping the next wave of Gqom in South Africa?

We see ourselves being one of the pioneers and faces of Gqom. We believe we are playing a very big part in the rebirth and the future of Gqom. We are the Kings of Joburg Gqom.
