Award-winning DJ and businesswoman DJ Zinhle recently opened up about the emotional toll of negative comments on social media, especially those targeting her marriage. The Umlilo hitmaker admitted that one particular remark about her husband, Bongani “Mörda” Mohosana, cut her deeply, leaving her unsure if she would ever recover from the experience.
The drama began when the topic of DJ Zinhle’s relationship was discussed on the popular podcast Spreading Humours, hosted by Seemah, alongside co-hosts Yanda Woods and Zille. During the conversation, Seemah shared her unfiltered opinion, saying, “Men will embarrass you. Men are terrible. He seems like such a decent guy. I’m so upset. You’d look at him and think Zinhle won here kanti yinja (but he’s a dog).”
The comment quickly went viral, and Zinhle couldn’t stay silent any longer. In an emotional TikTok video, she addressed how deeply the remark hurt her. She said, “Yoh, I’m so exhausted. I’ve actually been trying to ignore all the stuff that’s been happening on social media, the disrespect that comes with it. But let me tell you, nothing hit harder than someone calling my husband inja (a dog). I don’t know if I’m going to recover from that one.”
Zinhle went on to explain that what made the situation worse was her familiarity with Seemah. “I think the thing that punished me the most about that statement was because I know the lady. I talk to her quite often in the DMs sometimes, and I’ve even bought from her business. She could have reached out to me if she was concerned, but instead, she went straight to TikTok to call my husband inja. You guys are doing a lot. You guys are brave,” she said.

After her emotional video went viral, DJ Zinhle decided to take accountability and apologize to her fans for engaging with the negativity. In a follow-up TikTok video, she expressed regret, saying, “I’d like to apologise, guys. I’ve been quiet for some time about this whole thing that has been happening on social media and the first time I decide to respond, I decide to respond to a negative thing. If I was someone who was sitting at home or at work defending DJ Zinhle online and the first time I see her responding she’s focusing on the negative, I’d be super upset.”
She continued by thanking her loyal supporters, saying, “That’s why I wanna apologise to you. I don’t take your support and love for granted. I want to say thank you. You are the only people that deserve my attention. Even for the people that decided to stay out of it and didn’t feel the need to say anything about it.”
Her fans flooded the comment section with love and support. One of her followers, Tshegofatso Mokgadi, wrote, “Love you bestie, remember behind the camera you’re also human and your feelings matter too.”
