Reebok has announced the launch of the Oh-Two-1, a bold, limited-edition sneaker created in collaboration with South African hip-hop artist and cultural icon, YoungstaCPT.
Named after Cape Town’s 021 area code, the Oh-Two-1 is more than just a sneaker—it’s a mixtape in motion. Every element tells a story, with each panel and texture intentionally chosen to reflect the rhythm and soul of Cape Town. Designed by YoungstaCPT and brought to life through original illustrations by fellow Capetonian Ross Solomon, the sneaker captures the highs and lows of life on the streets of the Mother City.
The details speak volumes. Hand-drawn spray cans, Metrorail trains, and the iconic ‘Gatsby’ sandwich are among the many illustrations wrapping the Oh-Two-1, representing Youngsta’s upbringing in the Cape Flats. From cassette tapes and arcade buttons to washing lines and taxis, it’s a visual collage of Cape Town’s culture and character—a tribute to the city’s struggles and triumphs.
The silhouette is based on the legendary Reebok Pump OmniZone, a 90s classic reimagined with attitude. Its gritty outsole draws inspiration from Cape Town’s streets and sidewalks, while a yellow-orange gradient nods to the city’s dramatic sunrises and sunsets over Table Mountain.
Each of the 500 individually signed and numbered pairs comes in a custom box sleeve, complete with a collectible sticker sheet inspired by YoungstaCPT’s mixtapes and lyrics. It’s more than footwear—it’s art, history, and hustle in one.

“You can’t applaud a fish for swimming,” says YoungstaCPT. “We are put on this earth to stake our claim. But it won’t be given to you easily. This is what perseverance looks like. Ten thousand hours looks like me.”
A lifelong fan of Reebok, Youngsta says the collaboration happened naturally, born from the streets and grown in the studio. “I’ve been wearing Reebok since I was a kid. You can see it in my early photos—even before the music. This shoe is for my city, for my people. For everyone who built something out of nothing.”
The Oh-Two-1 drops on October 31st for R3,999 and will be available in extremely limited quantities—just 500 pairs—through Reebok.co.za, Reebok stores, and select retailers including Sportscene, Studio88, Shelflife, Sneakerdistrict, and Y?Gen.
This release forms part of Reebok South Africa’s Pure Mzansi Gold series, an ongoing celebration of the nation’s most influential artists, athletes, and pop culture figures. Following the late AKA’s collaboration, YoungstaCPT becomes the third South African to design a signature Reebok sneaker, with the Oh-Two-1 marking the brand’s most significant local collaboration to date.
“YoungstaCPT embodies the Reebok attitude like few others,” says PJ Morilly of Reebok South Africa. “He’s a leader, a storyteller, someone who carved his own path. That’s exactly the kind of energy we want to champion.”

“You can’t be a challenger without ruffling some feathers,” adds Kevin Duke, Reebok’s Global Product Director. “Like Shaq and Iverson, YoungstaCPT brings a unique voice to the global stage.”
To accompany the launch, Reebok will debut a four-part mini-documentary that explores the creative process behind the Oh-Two-1, told in the style of a mixtape. The series will feature behind-the-scenes footage, stories, and activations that reflect YoungstaCPT’s energy and fearless creativity.
