Mia Le Roux Signs Off as Miss South Africa 2024

Mia Le Roux, the reigning Miss South Africa 2024, has officially signed off her reign, passing the crown to the newly crowned Miss South Africa 2025, Qhawekazi Mazaleni, on 25 October 2025. The handover marked a heartfelt and inspiring moment in the pageant’s history.

Sharing her emotions on Instagram, Mia Le Roux wrote, “The sun emerging from the clouds, a reflection of the hope I carry within me. My dream final walk, made possible by @anelbothac. Thank you for helping me close this chapter with my story stitched gracefully into every detail. Thank you for all the love, hours of hard work and care you poured into me. You don’t just qdesign and make dresses, you tell the story of the woman behind the dress, like only you can. I love you!”

Mia Le Roux also expressed her excitement and support for her successor: “@qhawemazaleni it was my greatest honour of the night to pass the crown on to you. As l’ve gotten to know you, I saw a powerful leader who is authentic not only in her advocacy but in who she is. I know you will only enrich and broaden the legacy of Miss South Africa. My heart is bursting with pride and excitement for you. You deserve it. Enjoy every single second of your year. Mia Le Roux also shared a touching reflection on her journey, taking the audience back to her childhood: “At four years old, I spoke my very first sentence: ‘Look there, white clouds.’ I didn’t know then the deep symbolic meaning of hope those words would carry throughout my life. And as I take my final walk tonight, I do so knowing that the little girl who once looked up and said, ‘Look there, white clouds,’ is now walking beneath them, no longer searching for hope, but carrying it within her.” 

She concluded with a heartfelt message to her supporters: “Thank you to my community, I am who I am, because of you. I love you South Africa! My country, my pride.”
