Relebogile Mabotja, the celebrated presenter, radio host, singer, producer, and writer, has reached a major milestone in her life and career — turning 40. Known for her powerful voice on Radio 702’s Afternoons with Relebogile Mabotja and as the host of Showmax’s Untied, Relebogile has built a career spanning more than two decades in the entertainment industry.
Earlier this September, she proudly celebrated her 40th birthday, marking the occasion with a stunning photo of herself in a long, colourful, flowing dress. The picture quickly went viral, drawing warm wishes and heartfelt messages from fans, fellow celebrities, and colleagues who admire her work and personality.
But Relebogile didn’t just stop at a glamorous photo. To honour her milestone, she decided to take an even bigger step — releasing her own music for the very first time. On Instagram, she explained what the project meant to her, writing:
“In honour of my 40th birthday, I chose to pay homage to myself and every part of my creative expression. Music has always been my first love. As part of my 40 Before 40 journey, I committed to finally releasing the music I created in 2020, a time when the world was locked down, but I felt free to just be myself without concern for what others thought.”
She admitted that it took years to overcome her fear of being vulnerable and perfectionism. “As a performer, producer, and entertainer, I worried about how people would receive it. But turning 40 means honouring myself beyond fear, beyond pressure, beyond the need for validation,” she wrote.
The project, titled Still Me, is deeply personal and symbolic. “Still Me is my birthday gift to myself, my first musical offering. I’ve never allowed myself to be this exposed, and today, I do so proudly. This is just the beginning, and I’m proud not just of the music but of how far I’ve come in choosing courage over fear. Most of all, I’m proud my son gets to watch his mom live fully, doing everything she loves,” Relebogile shared.
Her debut music is already streaming on major platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and Deezer. Fans and celebrities alike have welcomed the release with excitement and admiration.
Singer Nhlanhla Mafu congratulated her, saying: “Congratulations beautiful, God’s timing.” Actress and TV host Nomalanga Shozi was overjoyed, writing: “This is the most beautiful surprise and I’m so here for it! Happiest Birthday, my Lady! May you continue to carve your path, still you. Always in a class of your own.”
Another supporter, Nomsa Masoka, praised her talent, saying: “Hiding such beautiful talent you are in the league ya bo Judith, Zonke, Lira mos. May you never hide that light that you carry. Some people are waiting to be healed by your music.”
