Reality TV star Jojo Robinson has become one of the most talked-about faces on The Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD). Ever since joining in Season 2, Jojo has stayed true to herself – bold, colourful, and unapologetically real. As Season 5 wraps up, she opened up to Showmax about her time on the show, her friendships, and what life is like behind the scenes.
Jojo, who is married to South African kickboxing champion Calven Robinson, is not just a housewife. She’s also a proud mom to her nine-year-old son Rocco and a tattoo-loving artist. With her fiery personality and emotional honesty, she’s kept fans talking from the moment she stepped into the RHOD spotlight.
Reflecting on the latest season, Jojo said, “Apart from a few really hard things, I really enjoyed this season. I loved getting to know the new girls.” She described Season 5 as tough but worth it — even jokingly comparing it to a cosmetic procedure. “A tummy tuck,” she said. “Painful AF, but worth it in the end.”
When asked how she’s changed over the years, Jojo gave a powerful answer. “I am literally a whole new person. I wouldn’t even know where to start. And I look forward to the growth that will come with everything that happened in Season 5.”
Being on the show means being in the public eye, but Jojo says she’s gotten used to the attention. “It’s become normal life for me. I’m always happy and grateful to meet anyone who loves the show.”
One of the most surprising things for her? Meeting so many South African celebs. “Where would I even start? I’ve met most of our celebrities… I absolutely love Khanyi Mbau. We speak often and get compared to being sisters a lot.”
When it comes to her favourite RHOD moment, Jojo says it was “our vow renewal in episode 1” and also “reuniting with Sorisha and finding a way to a friendship again.”
Of course, fans have been following the rocky relationship between Jojo and fellow cast member Nonku Williams. Jojo addressed their current status with grace and honesty. “I’m appreciative of the years we spent together and the love I had for her. Unfortunately, people do change… Maybe in the future we will get to speak, but for now, I have peace in knowing that I loved hard.”
Looking to the future, Jojo says she wants peace and healing for the group. “As hectic as we all are together, it’s our little bond.”
As for her dream cast in a possible Season 6? Jojo kept it diplomatic. “I think it’s best we let the professionals decide on whoever they think is best suited.”
