TV host and media personality Relebogile Mabotja is currently living her best life in the city of love — Paris! The UnTied host has been sharing glimpses of her Parisian getaway with her South African followers on social media, showing off everything from fine dining to breathtaking monuments. But it was one particular video that got Mzansi talking.
Relebogile recently posted a fun and playful video of herself embracing the streets of Paris in true South African style. Dressed in a bucket hat, she did her version of the iconic pantsula walk — complete with the hand gestures and energy that define the classic township dance and lifestyle.

“Pantsula in Paris!” she captioned the video, referencing the cultural fusion between Mzansi’s township pride and the European fashion capital. The video was set to Magasman, a hit Kwaito track by Trompie featuring the late legend Lebo Mathosa — a nostalgic tune that took many back to the early 2000s.
The moment was clearly meant to celebrate her roots while enjoying a global city. But not everyone appreciated it.
Many users on social media called the video “cringe” and questioned her decision to post it. One user, @ReTlaRengMara, asked, “Why did you do this, my sister? It’s not even funny. It’s weird.”
Another, @dude_harvey4, commented, “I hope you said you are from Nigeria. Mzansi can’t handle so much embarrassment.”
@MLS_Skelly added, “The audacity it took to film this, edit it, and still hit ‘post’ unbothered and unashamed is truly art. The lack of self-awareness? Staggering. The confidence? Misplaced. The result? A tragedy.”
Despite the criticism, Relebogile didn’t stay silent. Known for her sharp comebacks, she stood up for herself in the comments, sending a strong message to her critics.
If my happiness & joy stirs discomfort in you, you should block me. It is only going to get louder & more free. You will cringe, you will ask why, you will demand I stop & frustrate yourself while I continue my love affair with self in every way I feel to. Do it now.

While some may have found the video uncomfortable, others admired her boldness and her decision to fully enjoy her trip in her own way.
