In her message, she wrote: “I can’t believe it’s 12 years today! Time is a serious scam! Remembering you today and always Moms! God is good and we are fine, but missing you nonetheless. Still your baby. ALWAYS YOUR BABY!”

She also posted on her Instagram story, saying: “Still your baby, ALWAYS YOUR BABY. Thinking about you Moms and missing you dearly. Love you always.”

Connie’s message touched many of her fans, who sent her love and support in the comments. It’s clear that her mother still holds a very special place in her heart.

This is not the only loss Connie has had to face in recent years. In July 2021, her husband, actor and producer Shona Ferguson, passed away due to COVID-19-related complications. He was 47 at the time. Shona was well-known in the South African film and TV industry and co-founded Ferguson Films with Connie. His death shocked the country and left a big hole in Connie’s life.

In April 2025, Connie wished her late husband a happy birthday, sharing a smiling photo of Shona and writing: “My KING would have been 51 today! Happy Heavenly Birthday MY SKAT. Conversations about you always end up in laughter! You gave us such a good happy life! Thank you for the beautiful memories! They’ve really kept us going even in the most challenging circumstances. I LOVE YOU FOR ETERNITY!”

Then in July 2024, on the third anniversary of his passing, Connie shared another emotional message: “One of One! There will never be another! A KING! LEGEND! The GOAT! Today marks 3 years since your departure my SKAT. Still feels unreal, but unreal has become our reality and we’re living with it. Our faith has carried us through the worst and we’re still here, thinking about you, missing you, remembering you, loving you and thanking God for all the beautiful memories shared together. Death is not final, for as long as we remember you, you live!”
