Reality TV star, singer, and businesswoman Londie London sat down for a candid interview on On The Couch with Wendy Mbatha, where she spoke openly about her life, the ups and downs of being in the public eye, and the strength it takes to keep moving forward.

Londie, who is also a mother, shared how she juggles motherhood and running multiple businesses. “I don’t know how I do it, but I honestly try my best,” she said. “You have to show up. Being a mother is a 24/7 job. I’m lucky enough to still have my mom present today, so they stay with my mom and the nanny.”

She also opened up about her fear of her children possibly having a stepfather. “I’m so scared of that. It’s such a scary topic for me,” she said, showing her vulnerable side.

Another topic that came up was how people often label her a “slay queen.” Londie explained that the term has changed meaning over the years. “I feel like we’ve lost the meaning of ‘slay queen’. To me, being a slay queen means looking good, slaying, and being a queen at the same time,” she said. She added that the term took a negative turn when it became associated with women who didn’t work and relied on wealthy men, which is not how she sees herself.

Londie expressed frustration over ongoing rumours about her finances and lifestyle. “People say I get money from men, I hate it. That rumour follows me everywhere,” she said. “People say I’m broke, that I don’t have a house or car, and that I drive a Tazz. I don’t know who started that rumour.”

She explained the real story. “I stayed at home when I was pregnant because I had just left a relationship. I went back to my family to sort myself out and respect myself. Once I was ready, I went back to work and faced the world. It was a huge thing that happened to me, it was a lot.”

On her co-parenting journey, Londie said things are going well. “I feel like we are in a good space, in terms of communication. I just wish he was a bit closer with the kids.”

Aside from being a mother and reality star, Londie is also an entrepreneur. Her ventures include Londie London Braids, a perfume line called Holiday by Londie London, and brand influencing. She shared that her first major payment came from an influencer campaign when she was jobless . “I got paid R100,000 for just four posts. Influencing does pay, if you do it right,” she said.

She also touched on her public and private identities. “To me, I’m the same person, Londie London and Londiwe Zulu. Reality TV has helped me become more comfortable with myself as a brand,” she shared.

Londie expressed her love for reality TV but said it has its limits. “The Housewives is a group show, so you only get a few minutes to show your story. I would really love to have my own show where people can truly see who I am.”
