“You Are Football!” — Bokang Montjane Praises Husband Simphiwe Tshabalala’s Legacy

Former Miss South Africa 2010, Bokang Montjane, is making big moves — not only in her professional life but also in her personal one. Recently, Bokang was announced as the new national director of Miss Supranational South Africa, a prestigious role in the world of pageantry. But while she is reaching new heights in her career, she hasn’t forgotten to celebrate the man by her side — her husband, legendary South African footballer Simphiwe Tshabalala.

Taking to Instagram, Bokang shared a heartfelt message about her husband’s historic soccer journey and the impact he continues to have. She wrote, “15 years ago on this day you made history and for almost 14 years I have had the privilege of getting the front row seat of watching you live your life purposefully.”

The couple has been married since 2016, and their love and respect for each other are clear. In her post, Bokang continued to express how proud she is of Simphiwe’s commitment to football and his efforts to uplift the next generation.

“I am so proud of you as a wife. I am so proud of how you have over the years continued to give 120% of yourself to this sport called football!!!”

She added, “I am so proud of how you continue to use this journey to inspire so many young African boys and girls. I am so proud of how you continue to ensure that you are not the first nor the last and continue to open doors for so many other young people in this sport.”

Bokang ended her emotional message by calling him her inspiration, writing, “You are an absolute inspiration and I love you with all my heart Monna waka. You are football!!!”

Simphiwe Tshabalala is indeed one of South Africa’s most celebrated footballers. He made history in 2010 when he scored the opening goal of the FIFA World Cup, hosted in South Africa — a goal that was later nominated for the FIFA Puskás Award. Tshabalala is also the second most capped Bafana Bafana player with 90 appearances and has played in three African Cup of Nations tournaments.
