South African DJ duo TxC, made up of Tarryn Reid and Clairise Hefke, is celebrating a major milestone after winning the 2025 BET Award for Best New International Act. The talented pair accepted their award at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, walking the red carpet with pride and joy.

This victory is not only big for them, but also for South African music as a whole. TxC is the first DJ duo ever to win in this category at the BET Awards, making their achievement even more special.

TxC’s journey has been one of hard work, passion, and breaking boundaries. From gaining popularity in South Africa to now being recognised on an international stage, they’ve shown that dreams can come true with dedication.

They were one of four South African acts nominated this year, alongside global hitmaker Tyla, rapper Maglera Doe Boy, and producer Dlala Thukzin. Even among such strong names, TxC stood out and walked away with the award.

Speaking to GLAMOUR, the duo said, “We are honoured to be nominated at the BET Awards, especially as the first female DJ duo. It gives us a seat at the global table and shows that South African culture and sound are being recognised around the world.”

Their nomination and win are not just a celebration of their own success but also a proud moment for South African music and women in the entertainment industry.  With this BET win, Tarryn and Clairise have opened new doors for other DJs and artists, showing that gender, geography, or genre doesn’t limit success.

As their fan base grows worldwide, it’s clear that this is just the beginning for TxC. Their BET Award win is more than a trophy—it’s a symbol of how far they’ve come and how far they’re still going to go.
