South African comedian Trevor Noah will return as the host of the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on February 2, 2025, marking his historic fifth consecutive year. This achievement makes him the first comedian ever to host the prestigious event five times.
Noah’s milestone surpasses the records of music icons who previously held the title. According to News 24, legendary hosts like Andy Williams, who hosted the Grammys seven times, John Denver with six, and LL Cool J with five, had set the bar for musical stars. Now, Noah joins this elite group, making history in a unique way.
In addition to hosting, the 40-year-old comedian will also serve as a producer for the live event. His return comes after a year of success, including a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album for his Netflix special Where Was I.
Despite recent devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, the Grammy Awards show will continue as planned. The city, which has been severely impacted by the fires in recent weeks, remains on track to host the star-studded event.
Noah, who is known for his quick wit and insightful commentary, shared his nerves about hosting the event in an interview with Variety last year. He explained that his biggest concern is disappointing the artists in the audience, especially icons like Beyoncé. “Like, I cannot imagine what it would be like to tell a joke and turn and see Beyoncé going [shakes his head and scowls]. Because that would mean whenever I listened to Beyoncé’s music, I would forever have that image in my head,” he said. “If you don’t do well for a live audience, OK, you’re gonna bounce back; if you don’t do well for a home audience, OK, some people are going to comment online. But to have the look of disappointment come from an icon or somebody that you really love — I do not wish for that experience. So I work twice as hard.”
Trevor Noah’s continued success as the host of the Grammy Awards reflects his ability to blend humour with a deep respect for the music industry, making him one of the most anticipated figures for the 2025 ceremony.
