Renowned TV producer Mandla N, alongside actress Sibulele Ntlebi, is gearing up to host a special acting workshop at Cosmo City’s multipurpose centre in Johannesburg next month. Known for her standout roles as Nolitha Sokhulu in The Black Door and Isitha the Enemy, Ntlebi will guide aspiring actors through key aspects of the craft on November 2.
Mandla N, who has a string of successful productions under his belt, expressed his excitement about the upcoming event, saying, “I’ll be supporting Sibulele in the acting workshop, which will focus on acting processes, the creativity behind acting, character development, voice and performance, and how to nail auditions.” He added that the workshop would also touch on the finer aspects of the industry, providing attendees with a holistic view of what it takes to succeed in the world of acting.
But beyond the technical skills, Mandla N revealed the workshop’s deeper goal: to “discover another Sibulele” and ignite the passion for acting in others. “It’s about spotting talent through this workshop and letting people know about the acting industry because there are so many opportunities. People tend to focus only on acting, but there are a lot of departments in the industry,” he explained to TshisaLIVE.
Ntlebi’s journey from Cape Town to being discovered by Mandla N is one that could inspire countless aspiring actors. “I work with Sibulele, and I discovered her from Cape Town. I have a lot of productions sold to Netflix that will air sometime in November,” Mandla N shared. “At Black Brain Pictures, we’re always cooking up something new, and this week we’re focusing on the Safta’s where we have nominations.”
