Actress Letoya Makhene and Lebo Keswa End Turbulent Four-Year Relationship

The high-profile relationship between actress Letoya Makhene and her partner Lebo Keswa has come to an end after four years marked by turbulence and allegations of abuse. The couple, who were married in a traditional ceremony in 2021, have officially parted ways, with Keswa confirming the split to the publication ZiMoja.

Keswa candidly described their love affair as toxic, revealing the extent of the challenges they faced. “I can sadly confirm that Letoya and I have separated and practically divorced. Our separation is beyond irreconcilable differences,” she stated. “For the sake of both our mental health and our children’s wellbeing, I had to take the unpopular decision of dissolving our marriage.”

The pair’s relationship was reportedly plagued by instability, with repeated separations before they decided to finalise their split. “I was hurt when I read about our split from the newspapers. I had not healed at the time, so reading about it broke my heart,” Keswa shared. Now, she says she has healed and is ready to move forward. “I tried to hide it and protect everyone because there are children involved, but I want to move on and not talk about this again.”

Rumours of abuse had previously circulated, and Keswa confirmed these issues, stating that both families were aware of and supported their decision to end the marriage. A close friend of the former couple alleged that Makhene had been unfaithful multiple times and that the relationship was marred by physical abuse and manipulation. “Contrary to reports suggesting Lebo was the abuser, it was Letoya who was very physical,” the friend disclosed, adding that Keswa had evidence to support these claims but chose to protect Makhene for a long time.

Keswa is now in a better place and ready to close this chapter of her life. Makhene, on the other hand, declined to comment on the situation.
