Zolisa Xaluva Scores New Acting Gig On An Etv Drama. The award-winning actor has been cast in a new eTV production called ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ as the lead actor.
The news comes after telenovela Imbewu is scheduled to come to an end on Friday, 14 April. This will give an opportunity for Smoke & Mirrors to replace it and take up its timeslot of 9pm and debut on 17 April. The new show produced by a company named ‘The Final Chapter Production’, is set to be about nefarious characters also know as “The Unholy Trinity” headed by Caeser(Zolisa Xaluva) who are hellbent on doing crime in a mining town.
The official broadcast channel of the telenovela eTV released this statement: “Smoke & Mirrors is set in the landscape of a small mining town called Emnyameni. Here, we come to learn that the story lives up to its name – nothing and no one is truly as they seem. Introducing the character of Thandiswa, a hairdresser by day, an escort by night, and a girl on a mission to rid the town of ‘The Unholy Trinity’, the group of morally corrupt men who run Emnyameni.”
The telenovela has an impressive star-studded cast which includes Khayalethu Xaba, who he portrays the character of Mpendulo Mseleku who is Thandiswa’s son. He’s in his teens who has the experience and knowledge necessary to deal with the potential difficulties or dangers of life in an urban environment. Then, there’s Martha portrayed by Lusanda Mbane.
Lusanda’s character was once involved in sex work but now owns her own hotel in the mining town of Emnyameni. And then there’s Nthabiseng portrayed by Angela Sithole and Sakhile portrayed by Siya Raymond who are passionately in love and are admired by many people. Lastly, there’s Nomvea portrayed by Charmaine Mtinta, a powerful sangoma who people fear and have reverence for. She has the guts to go for war with Virginia(Caesar’s wife) portrayed by Zinhle Mabena.
