Zola Nombona On How She Scored Her Breakout Role On ‘Intersexions’. In her recent interview on Kaya 959, actress Zola Nombona touched on how she got her foot into the acting industry and some of the challenges she had to face.
Zola’s breakout role was on Intersexions back in 2013 when she was still a student at the University of the Witwatersrand studying Drama. The actress revealed how she had to put on a brave face with taking the bold step to audition for a part in the groundbreaking series.
When asked by Dineo Ranaka how she gained confidence for going to audition for a big television production like ‘Intersexions’ she said: “I was still at Wits… so I was just taking a chance man and I don’t think…then it was it was that scary because…Intersexions had a role to plav then you know, it was teaching us about HIV and all the intricacies of it”.
Zola Nombona also went on to add that she feels like the show ‘Intersexions’ was a great show. Due to the fact that it touched on serious social issues regarding topics and an illness that people weren’t comfortable having outside of social media.
