Zee Nxumalo is celebrating a major career milestone as her hit single, Ngisakuthanda, has climbed to the number one spot on Apple Music South Africa across all genres. This achievement marks her first-ever solo chart-topper on the platform and comes six months after the song’s release.
From a rising TikTok star to a multi-platinum-selling artist, the Johannesburg-based singer has captured the hearts of music lovers nationwide. Ngisakuthanda didn’t just top Apple Music—it also dominated Shazam, outperforming some of the biggest names in the industry, including Cassper Nyovest, Vanga, and Kelvin Momo.
Expressing her excitement, the 22-year-old singer shared her gratitude for the overwhelming support.
“I’m so grateful to every single person who has streamed, Shazamed, or shared Ngisakuthanda. To see it hit number one on Apple Music and go multi-platinum is beyond anything I could have imagined.
“Huge shoutout to TBO because he’s a huge part of why this song is doing so well. This moment is for my team and fans. Thank you for pushing me to new heights every day. I’m inspired to keep creating music that speaks to all of us, and I can’t wait to show you what’s next,” she said.
Shingai Darangwa, Zee’s co-manager at Punchline Projects, also reflected on her incredible success.
“Watching this song scale the charts and now claim the number one spot on Apple Music is a dream come true for the whole team. Zee’s remarkable growth in just the past few months, following a breakthrough in 2024, has been incredible to witness. Her talent, hard work, and authenticity have clearly resonated with music lovers across the country, and I couldn’t be prouder,” said Darangwa.
With Ngisakuthanda now officially certified multi-platinum, Zee Nxumalo is proving that she’s here to stay. As one of Mzansi’s most promising young stars, her journey is only just beginning.
