Rising star Zee Nxumalo, whose real name is Zandile Nxumalo, is ready to take her talent to a global stage as she embarks on her first European tour. The singer, known for her hit tracks Fomo and Ama Gear, spoke with TshisaLIVE about her excitement and anticipation for the journey ahead.
“This is my first time out of the continent, so I don’t know what to expect in that part of the world,” Zee shared. “I have a few radio interviews lined up there and some music performances, and I can’t wait to interact with music fans during the tour. I’ll be using some dancers from Europe. We are rehearsing with my dancers here at home in preparation for the tour.”
Zee’s debut EP, KwaNxumalo, released in June 2022, showcased her talent and earned her widespread acclaim. Her single Funk 55 was a massive hit during the last festive season, racking up over three million streams across various platforms just a month after its release in late November.
Reflecting on her success, Zee said, “The success has been nothing short of amazing. I didn’t anticipate such a reception of the music I’ve offered my fans. I worked hard. I put in the work.”
Adding to her achievements, the Eswatini-born singer is nominated for the Motsepe Foundation Record Of The Year at the 30th South African Music Awards (SAMAs). Speaking on the nomination, Zee expressed both excitement and nerves. “I feel very anxious. The nomination on its own is a win for me, but I’m anxious more than anything because if we win we’ll receive the money that comes with the award, so that will be dope.”
