Zandie Khumalo is not backing down on her testimony in the ongoing trial over the murder of Senzo Meyiwa. Despite public pressure, Zandie is standing by her statements that her sister, Kelly Khumalo, is not the mastermind behind the tragic killing of the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper.
In a bold social media post, Zandie declared that she would not apologise to South Africans for her testimony, emphasising that she never lied under oath. She insisted that her statements were based on her memory and understanding of the events.
“Mina, I’m not gonna apologize to South Africans for anything. First of all, I never lied under oath. I gave my testimony to the best of my ability and recollection,” Zandie said. “I was never part of any planning or masterminding Senzo’s murder. If I’m proven wrong about my suspicions, I will apologize, but until then, I’m standing by what I said.” “My suspicions are not from a place of malice. I just want to make sure the police leave no stone unturned,” she said.
In her post, Zandie also made it clear that she does not believe Kelly Khumalo was involved in the murder. “I am 200% sure that KK had nothing to do with this. I know her personally, and I’m speaking from a place of emotional attachment,” she said.
Zandie remained firm in her call for justice, saying she would only apologise if her suspicions were proven wrong. She also stressed that anyone found to be the mastermind behind Senzo’s death, whether related to her or not, should face the law. “Anyone involved in masterminding Senzo’s death—whether a family member or not—should be arrested,” Zandie stated. “I want justice, and I won’t back down until we get it.”
