Earlier this week, Drum Magazine reported on how Zahara didn’t tell the truth to the media about what really went down at her lobola negotiations. Well, the star herself has come out to set the record straight. Zahara hits back at ‘failed lobola’ reports.
Zahara told a local publication how in her culture things like lobola negotiations are not discussed publicly. “I don’t know where Drum got this information from but it is false. I don’t talk about my love life. I don’t talk about my love life. And I have never commented about my love life to that publication. Lobola is a secret process. Xhosa’s will never talk about it,” she said.
She however went on to reveal more details about her lobola negotiations in an attempt to clear up the rumors. “Amaza’s family came to the house and the two families agreed on an amount for lobola. They signed the agreement and, like the tradition goes, the Ntshanga’s will be back to make the payment,” she said.
