It looks like there’s a new celebrity feud brewing — and this one is as unexpected as it gets. Florida rapper Yung Miami, one-half of the famous City Girls, has found herself at odds with South Africa’s Grammy-winning superstar Tyla. The drama? A song — and not just any song — but one that both artists seem to have centered around the luxury fashion brand Chanel.

For months, Yung Miami has been teasing a trap-inspired single that fans have unofficially titled “Chanel.” The unreleased track is described as a bold and energetic anthem celebrating designer fashion. In the song, she confidently chants, “Take me to Chanel,” setting the tone for a lavish and playful vibe.

However, things took a sharp turn when Tyla — known globally for her Afropop and amapiano hits — previewed her own upcoming single. To everyone’s surprise, Tyla’s track also features the word “Chanel” in the hook, where she sings, “Put me in Chanel.” Her version carries her signature smooth, sultry Afrobeats sound, completely different from Miami’s trap-heavy style.

But to Yung Miami, the coincidence didn’t sit right. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), she vented her frustration, suggesting that Tyla might have stolen her concept. “This girl really ran off with my song and ion know how to feel about it,” she wrote. “Mind you I played this song for this girl.” She later added, “Like… Btch I’m confused! Take me to Chanel > put me in Chanel.”

While Yung Miami didn’t mention Tyla by name at first, fans quickly connected the dots. One user declared, “PSA — It is Tyla! She has a new song called Chanel. The chorus is ‘Put me in Chanel, Put me in Chanel.’”

Tyla, however, seemed completely unbothered by the brewing drama. Instead of responding to the accusations, she went ahead and promoted her single “Chanel,” which is set to drop on October 24, ignoring all the noise.

Meanwhile, social media users wasted no time weighing in on the dispute.

@MasinElije commented: “I heard the snippet of Yung Miami’s song and I heard Tyla’s song, and both songs sound NOTHING alike. I have no idea why Caresha just crashed out like that over the word ‘Chanel.’”

@BhaktBusters added: “Oh, fabulous, Miami’s accusing Tyla of stealing! Fact: Tyla’s ‘Chanel’ snippet dropped in 2025, while Miami’s just yelling about a song she hasn’t released. Iconic timing!”

Another post from the same user read: “Hilarious, Yung Miami’s theft tantrum! Fact: Tyla’s been teasing ‘Chanel’ since Global Citizen 2025, while Miami’s last hit was 3 years ago. Maybe focus on dropping?”

And @tiredfeminist_ had a clever take: “The brand #Chanel has quite literally put Tyla in Chanel… You have to ask people to take you there… Girl, leave Tyla alone.”
