Nomzamo Mbatha is one of the most beautiful women in South Africa, a title that has also been given to former First Lady Winnie Madikizela Mandela but that’s not the reason the actress calls Winnie her greatest inspiration.
The actress did an interview with Love Brown Sugar on her recent trip to New York and in the interview she talks about how much she relates to Winnie Madikizela Mandela.
Asked who her greatest inspiration is, Nomzamo said it is the former First Lady because she is a woman of strength, a pioneer and has been through a lot, something she knows herself.
“Very misunderstood but a rock and I kind of relate to who she is because I’m also very much misunderstood. A lot of people want to box me into something but I do know that inside I’m a rock. I can face anything”, said Nomzamo.
“She’s one of the beacons of light that I just want to hold on to.”
Nomzamo has previously shared her love for her namesake Ma “Nomzamo” Winnie which means “she who strives”. Check out a birthday message Nomzamo wrote to Winnie and shared on Instagram a year ago.
