Slowly but surely becoming a jack of all trades,Intersexions actor and son of Ringo Madlingozi, Phila Madlingozi seems to have one more trick up his sleeves for us.
Phila has bagged himself another television gig but this time around his stage will be on a reality music show. Yes, you guessed right Phila plans to serenade all the ladies of SA on Idols.
It’s reported that Phila wants to follow in daddy’s footsteps and has auditioned for Idols. Phila’s first step to becoming a musician seems to have been a successful one as the Idols publicist confirmed to Drum Magazine that Madlingozi bagged himself a Golden Ticket.
For those who don’t know what a Golden Ticket means, this means that you’ll be seeing Phila at the Sun City group stage. His rendition of Donny Hathaway’s, A Song For You was an apparent hit for the judges and impressed them to the max.
“Idols is the biggest platform to showcase musical talent and I’ve always wanted to be a part of it,” he said
Madlingozi is said to also be excited about the exposure that comes with Idols, as if the Intersexions and Mzansi Audiences are not more than enough!
“I want to learn. I want to know more about my voice and growing it. I’m excited about how this opportunity will advance my singing career.”
If you would like to be Phila’s competition, the final auditions will be taking place this Sunday at Carnival City in Johannesburg.
