Watch! Nomzamo Mbatha Enjoys South African Cuisine For Thanksgiving At Oprah Winfrey’s Home. American TV personality and media icon Oprah Winfrey’s love for Mzansi goes so deep that she had to build a girls school here. The same applies with actors from Mzansi, who are making waves in Hollywood right now such as Thuso Mbedu and Nomzamo Mbatha.
The USA is already within the festive season and the celebrations have already begun. This is the time that Americans celebrate Thanksgiving which is a very big tradition in America is celebrated on various dates in the United States and It began as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. This is of course celebrated with a huge feast with loved ones and Oprah decided to give her thanksgiving a little twist of Mzansi.
Taking to Instagram, the award winning daytime TV host shared a video of her thanksgiving celebration which took place at her home with a few familiar faces in attendance. Among the guests was Oprah’s partner Stedman Graham and Mzansi’s very own prized gem, Nomzamo Mbatha.
Oprah made the day extra special for Nomzamo and company by taking them back home with a buffet of local dishes including Samp and beans, bunny Chow’s, peri peri chicken, Chakalaka and more. The meal was of course prepared to perfection by Winfrey’s top class chef and it looks like they had a great time indeed.
Oprah claims that the feast was a welcome home meal for the girls and they also got to enjoy some malva pudding to end things off. Winfrey thanked her chef for going out of his way to give the ladies a taste of home in Mzansi with these classic South African dishes.
“We had a pre-Thanksgiving feast at our house. South African cuisine ?? to welcome my girls home. And yes there was malva pudding for dessert. All deliciously prepared by Chef @raymond_weber. Thanks for giving my daughter girls a taste of Home” Winfrey wrote.
Nomzamo commented on Oprah’s post thanking her for the experience which definitely reminded her of home. The actress recently moved to Los Angeles to further her brand and she has been putting in a lot of work. The now US-based SA actress took a leap of faith when she moved to Los Angeles in 2019 and things have been going very well for her.
Mbatha recently played a young royal barber named Mirembe in the fictional African kingdom of Zamunda in the film Coming 2 America and she did Mzansi very proud. Mbatha has also been focusing on her philanthropy work with Global Citizen and many other platforms and we can’t wait to see what other moves the beauty makes during her time in Hollywood.
