Watch! Minnie Dlamini Addresses Claims That Itumeleng Khune Paid Lobola. The media personality and actress recently sat down with DJ Fresh, where she talked about a plethora of things, like her being a victim of cyber bullying, her divorce from Quinton Jones and her previous relationship with Itumeleng Khune.
Appearing as a guest on DJ Fresh’s YouTube podcast, WAW:What A Week Dlamini got remarkably candid about a lot of things in her life, both in the past and the present. Itumeleng and Minnie dated from 2011 to 2014 and their relationship was one that always dominated media headlines. One interesting point of contention she decided to publicly speak on were media reports of Itumeleng Khune paying her bridal price (lobola) of R1 million.
When asked about what has been the biggest misconception about her, Dlamini said it was that Khune had paid a hefty price to have her as his wife saying, “The worst misconception is that Khune lobola’ed me, that, that is the worst one. I hate it, I hate it! People still think it’s true!” she replied.
Back in 2017, before tying the knot with Quinton Jones, she had told DJ Fresh on one of his radio shows that no one had paid lobola for her and that reports circulating at the time were fake.
“I was never, ever, ever, ever ‘lobolad’ by a soccer player in my life. It never happened. So, we can lay that to rest, please guys, it did not happen. The first time I got ‘lobolad’ was now, and I’m getting married now,” she told DJ Fresh back in 2017.
Speaking about her divorce from Quinton that topped trending lists on social media and made media headlines back in 2022, Minnie revealed that she was too young to have made the big decision of getting married at the tender age of 26. She also went on to add that when it comes to co-parenting her son, Netha she is the one doing most of the work.
