Watch! Minister Gigaba’s Embarrassing Attempt At Quoting Kendrick Lamar! South African politicians love quoting American rappers and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba today in Parliament tried to reassure the nation whilst giving the budget speech but it didn’t come out quite right.
Gigaba wanted to quote Kendrick’s famous line on his song Alright, which reads, “we gon’ be alright”. Instead, Malusi with awkward fingers in the air said, “we gonna right”.

This is not the first time a politician has tried to bring hip hop to Parliament, a few years ago, EFF’s Mbuyiseni Ndlozi quoted Rick Ross.
