Watch! Mihlali Ndamase Reveals Why She Chose To Quit Alcohol. The influencer, makeup artist and YouTuber recently sat down with rapper, L-Tido on his podcast titled ‘L-Tido podcast’. She got to discuss a variety of topics related to her business ventures, her controversial girlfriend allowance and choosing to be sober.

Ndamase has made it known in the past that she wants to cut permanent ties with her unhealthy relationship with alcohol. She has in the past issued a clarion call to young people to join the course of action.

Responding to a question by L-Tido about why she decided to put alcohol down, Mihlali said: “You know what alcohol doesn’t contribute anything to my life. I had to have a conversation with myself because I felt like after lockdown, I personally had similar conversations with other people where we normalised irresponsible behaviour. Like lockdown you had nothing to do you could open a bottle of wine on a Wednesday from lunchtime and just drink until you go to bed or whatever.”

She further expressed that she wasn’t happy that consuming alcohol affected her energy levels. It resulted in feeling extremely tired, her body feeling weak saying, “So, I unfortunately carried that pattern into now post lockdown where it’s like, ‘Okay girl you need to handle your business’ but now you’re waking up hangover during the week. For me that made no sense for my productivity, it made no sense with my business goals, it also made no sense for my overall health and just my mental health.”

“So that’s when I was like ‘actually, this alcohol thing is not worth it’. I think even if I don’t quit forever, I mean I obviously have a goal to hopefully leave alcohol forever. If not for as long as possible but should I go back at least I can go back knowing that I have the discipline. And I’ve sort of adopted healthier habits when it comes to drinking,” she concluded.
