Thuso Mbedu recently had Mzansi in tears after her latest big interview on the Emmy award winning Day Time show The Ellen Degeneres Show. This makes Thuso one of the very few South African celebs who have graced the popular white couch.
Thuso flew the South African flag high when she had a sit down interview with Ellen on the show, where they spoke about all things The Underground Railroad. Ellen sang Mbedu praises about her talent and dedication put in to making her character Cora as amazing and impactful as she was.
Taking to Instagram, Thuso shared a video clip of how the interview went and also the special gift that she received from Ellen on the show. The American day time host was made aware that Thuso is an avid sneaker head and didn’t have many pairs growing up, so she gifted Thuso with a cool pair of blue Nike sneakers with shiny diamante detail.
Mbedu was definitely taken by surprise by gift and couldn’t contain her excitement upon receiving the gift. The actress captioned the video claiming that she needs to further practice her reactions for big time interviews to prevent her from screaming like a school girl, but we totally understand her reaction in this circumstance.
“The laugh in frame 2 gets me every time ??? I keep saying I need to practice my professional laugh. This would’ve been a good time to use it” she wrote.
Despite how proud Mzansi was about Thuso’s latest achievement, tweeps couldn’t help but notice that the actress may have picked up a slight twang during her time overseas, which has sparked a huge debate.
