Vuyokazi Nciweni has finally spoken out after a viral video sparked rumours that she is dating South African DJ and events promoter, Thendo Zonzo who is also known as DJ Zonzo.
The Izingane ZeSthembu reality star found herself trending on social media after a video of her and DJ Zonzo sharing a kiss at a club quickly made the rounds online. Many people assumed the two were in a relationship, but Vuyokazi has now made it clear that the rumours are not true.
Speaking about the incident, Vuyokazi explained that she was in Pretoria when she decided to go out to a club. While there, she met DJ Zonzo for the first time. She said she was intoxicated and did not know him before that night.
“If I knew I would have distanced myself from him. I met him at the club and we vibed. I was intoxicated. People who know me very well know that I would never post something like that. It was not me who posted that because I was too intoxicated to know what I was doing at that moment.”
Vuyokazi also addressed how the video ended up on social media. She believes it may have been shared by DJ Zonzo or people who were with him that night.
“People who know me know I would never do such a thing. I’m a private person. I am not dating Zonzo.”
She admitted that the attention the video has received has been frustrating because people quickly assumed they were a couple without knowing the full story.
“It just pisses me of that all of these things are said he’s not even my boyfriend and I never said he’s my boyfriend.”
Vuyokazi said that if she ever decided to introduce the man she is dating, she would do it in a completely different way.
“If I were to post my man I would post him a proper way, not like that because I’ve never done something like that before.”
She also shared that she feels people have been too quick to judge her over one moment.
“You guys can judge me but I was having fun and I was intoxicated. When I’m intoxicated I don’t use my phone and I don’t shoot videos.”
The reality star explained that people who know her understand that she is a private person and that it is not like her to record or post videos while partying.
She ended her message by asking people not to judge her based on a single moment, especially when she was not fully aware of what was happening.
“It doesn’t make sense that I’m getting so hardly judged just by meeting a guy and you guys are saying he’s bad news. It was my first time hearing of Zonzo. You guys are judging someone who was not even in her senses. I would never try to humiliate myself like that.”
Although the viral clip led many to believe there was romance between Vuyokazi Nciweni and DJ Zonzo, the reality star insists there is no relationship. According to her, it was simply a night out that was misunderstood, and she hopes people will stop assuming they are dating based on a video that does not tell the full story.
