Reality TV star from Izingane Zesthembu and content creator Vuyokazi Nciweni is preparing to celebrate a major academic achievement. The young mom will soon graduate in June 2026 with an impressive 11 distinctions — a milestone that reflects years of determination, sacrifice and focus.

In an interview with BabyYumYum, she opened up about her educational journey and what inspired her to pursue her qualification.

“I started in 2020 and studied corrections management, which focuses on the rehabilitation of offenders. It falls under the law department and involves working in juvenile prisons, rehabilitating young offenders, keeping track of their progress and making sure that when they are released, they do not return to committing crimes.”

Her passion for the field was shaped by her upbringing.

“It’s because of the environment I grew up in. As a girl from a township, I saw many children growing up in broken homes, dropping out of school, getting into trouble and becoming involved in crime and drugs. I didn’t like seeing that, so I decided I wanted to help them get off the streets and see that there is always something better to do. This course includes elements of social work and has a lot to offer.”

Graduating with distinctions was not something she initially expected. She described the moment she found out about her results as unforgettable.

“When I received my results, I was not thinking much about them at first. I was going through my email when, at the same time, I received an SMS notification. That is when it finally sank in that I had completed my studies. I felt incredibly excited. I realised I had not only passed but had performed exceptionally well. I counted about 11 distinctions. It was a proud moment and a clear reminder that all my hard work and dedication had paid off. I also realised that I am capable of furthering my studies, achieving more and maintaining focus even while balancing the responsibilities of motherhood.”

Balancing motherhood, content creation and studying was not always easy. She admitted that she once paused her studies to focus on other priorities.

“I put school on hold because there was a time when I was focused on other things. I think that sometimes when you focus on something else, you forget about the most important things you are supposed to be doing. Now, since I am more focused on myself, I was able to concentrate on the things I needed to do, mainly meaningful things for myself and my children. Finishing school was my priority and I did it. I also shared my previous interview with Baby Yum Yum that I have a strong support system from my parents. While I was studying, completing assignments and going to the library, they were there for me every step of the way. They encouraged me to finish on record time instead of delaying my qualification. They wanted me to succeed and offered to take care of the kids so that my future would be secure.”

For her, graduation is about more than just a qualification, it is about setting an example. “Wearing that graduation gown will be a powerful example for my children, especially my daughter. I want her to be inspired to make better choices than I did. I don’t want her to start with the things she shouldn’t start with. She should see that her mom studied, worked hard and achieved her goals and let that motivate her to pursue her own dreams.”

She also hopes her journey will inspire other women. “I wish women could understand that if a situation is not working out, whether in a relationship, marriage or any other circumstance, it is okay to walk away. Removing yourself and focusing on what you want can create the space for change. Prayer and determination are key. I had to push myself to complete my studies. I am not naturally academic, but I forced myself because I realised that if I didn’t take control of my education, my business and my future as an influencer, I could be left stranded. This motivated me to earn this qualification as a backup while I continue to grow my business and influence.”
