Generations: The Legacy and actor Vuyo Dabula’s fans were left in awe after a story on Vuyo not wanting to hug smelly fans went viral. In the article first published by Drum Magazine, Vuyo reportedly told a fan she should go and clean up first if she wants a hug because he doesn’t get paid to greet fans in the first place.
The actor clarified the incident at Metro Awards saying walked the black carpet like everyone else, then stopped for pictures and interviews, greeted fans along the way and entered the venue. He was then told to go back because fans wanted more pictures.
“As with any major event fans were incredibly enthusiastic. I shook hands and hugged many people, but there were also many people that I couldn’t get to. It’s not because I didn’t want to, but because the logistics of the situation just didn’t allow me to – there were hundreds of fans pushing towards the barrier to grab my attention”, he told a local publication.
He then took it to Instagram to directly tell his fans what really happened. “I don’t know why you are spreading falsehood about me …you will not take away how I treat people on the streets ..”, he wrote.
Vuyo might be a good celebrity after all. Kudos to him for standing up for himself.
