Veteran Actor MacDonald Ndodana Mathunjwa Dies. The South African entertainment industry is in mourning after the sad news of veteran actor MacDonald Ndodana Mathunjwa’s passing in the early hours of Tuesday,  01 June 2021 came to light. The news of his passing was announced by his daughter Zanoxolo Mathunjwa on Twitter.

“RIP daddy,  #hearbroken MacDonald Ndodana Mathunjwa passed away today,” Zanoxolo wrote.

Bra Mac, as he was affectionately known, was a brilliant actor and music producer best known for his role in SABC’s successful drama series Home Affairs. Others will remember the veteran actor for his role as Oupa in the SABC1 comedy series Khululeka.

He also starred as Tshibaphi in the SABC1 drama series Intsika, in 2011. One of his biggest TV gigs saw him in the SABC1 mini-series uGugu no Andile, based on the Shakespearean play Romeo and Juliet, in 2008. Soap opera lovers will also remember him on the old or defunct Generations on SABC1 as Mawande’s father.

According to TshisaLive his daughter Makwande Mathunjwa confirmed that he died due to Covid-19 related complications. Since the news of his passing, tributes and touching messages of condolences have been pouring for the legendary actor and the Mathunjwa family.
