Veteran Actor Israel Zulu Loses His Leg Following Battle With Gangrene. Things have now taken an unfortunate turn in former Gomora actor Israel Zulu’s life following confirmation of his illness. A few months ago it was reported that the award winning actor was battling with his health but he then assured his fans that he was okay and well on his way to recovery.

Fnas were devastated when it was revealed that the actor was diagnosed with Gangrene on one of his legs and was having trouble moving around on set. Soon after, Zulu’s exit from the award winning show Gomora was announced after it was reported that he was using a wheel chair to mobilize around set.

After saying goodbye to Mzansi Magic’s Gomora because of his health, fans of the show were left very worried. The actor has now assured his fans through an interview with the Daily sun that he is doing well.

According to Sunday World the actor confirmed that he is now recuperating at home after the amputation operation on his right leg. A source said he had the operation at a Sandton hospital about two weeks ago. Last month, in a statement issued by his management company Orange and Ice Management, the Yizo Yizo star said the gangrene “had rendered him semi-crippled”.

Gangrene is a dangerous and potentially fatal condition that happens when the blood flow to a large area of tissue is cut off. This causes the tissue to break down and die. Gangrene often turns the affected skin a greenish-black colour and can affect the toes, fingers and limbs, and organs.

Fans all over Mzansi and celebrity friends have been showing immense support to the actor and have been showering him with messages of comfort. Zulu has responded to the overwhelming love sharing he is very grateful for the support and well wishes that he has received from the people of Mzansi.
