Uzalo’s Nelisa Mchunu Encourages Rape Victims To Come Forward! The number of rape victim’s stays growing by the day and Uzalo actress Nelisa Mchunu who plays ‘Fikile’ on the show is encouraging those who are unfortunate victims of such acts to not be afraid to come forward and tell someone.

After the talented Durban based actress escaped a similar situation as her character on the popular series, she was very empathetic to the millions of people who relate in real life that she decided to reach out to her fans.

In the episode Fikile’s acquaintance forcefully had tried to have sex with her claiming that he knew that deep down she was attracted to him, fortunately she escaped the incident after being saved by another character (Sbu) which is hardly the case for real life victims.

Mchunu took to twitter to urge all those who can relate to the trauma that her character went through, to not be ashamed or afraid to report the offender. She elaborated on the difference between fiction and non-fiction with regards to rape.

“Ladies. Unfortunately in real life we don’t have oSbu noNkunzi to bury rapists alive, so please please don’t ever be afraid to report a rape case, rapists don’t deserve to be out in the streets terrorizing women,” she tweeted.
