Tyla, the 22-year-old sensation behind the hit “Water,” stole the spotlight in New York City on Sunday as she accepted the prestigious Global Impact Award at Billboard’s R&B No.1s 2024 party. The rising star turned heads with her stunning fashion choice, donning a black lace dress featuring an intricate web corset, a V-neckline, and a flirty frilly hem, all while showing off her toned legs.

According to Daily Mail, to add a unique twist to her look, Tyla paired the dress with quirky black-and-white faux-fur thong sandals, which had a touch of sparkle thanks to a diamante embellishment. She completed her glamorous ensemble with bold statement earrings, winged eyeliner, and a nude lip, creating a flawless, edgy appearance.

Upon accepting the award, Tyla expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much Billboard, thank you to my team, my label, my family, my Tygers, obviously.”

Reflecting on her journey, she added, “I remember when everyone used to feel like this was so unattainable, especially where I’m from. The fact that I’m able to be here today and just live out a dream that never felt real is such a beautiful thing to be able to experience, so I thank everybody.”

Tyla also used the moment to highlight the importance of embracing diverse cultures and music styles: “Thank you to everyone who cared to learn about other cultures, other styles of music, and truly appreciates it and loves it for what it is. It’s not just a trend, it’s not just a dance move, it’s not just a sound, it’s culture.”

Tyla’s powerful words and striking look left a lasting impact, solidifying her as an influential voice in the global music scene.
