South African music star Tyla is making waves internationally with an impressive eight nominations at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs).

The nominees were announced on Monday, November 25, in Los Angeles, and Tyla earned nods in major categories, including Top R&B Artist, Top Afrobeats Artist, Top R&B Song, Top R&B Album, and Top R&B Female Artist.

In a groundbreaking moment, the multi-award-winning singer became the first artist in BBMAs history to receive three nominations in a single category. Her chart-topping hits “Water,” “Truth or Dare,” and “Jump” were all nominated for Top Afrobeats Song, showcasing her dominance in the genre.

The highly anticipated 2024 Billboard Music Awards will be broadcast on December 12.  With her record-breaking nominations, Tyla continues to solidify her position as a global music icon.
