Tweeps React To DJ Sbu Praising Facebook Rapist Thabo Bester. The famous DJ, television presenter and businessman has ruffled a few feathers after complimenting the convicted Thabo Bester for his atrocious crimes. He made his comments on his YouTube podcast titled ‘Virtual Mkhukhu’.
On the 17th of March, GroundUp broke the news that a man known as Thabo Bester dubbed the ‘Facebook Rapist’ had been seen in Sandton shopping with his partner, Nandipha. Photos of Thabo had been widely shared on social media. It is reported that Bester had allegedly faked his own death in prison, by deceiving people that he had died in a prison fire at the ‘Mangaung Correctional Centre’ in Bloemfontein.
Bester had been in prison for committing different types of heinous crimes, robberies, murder, fraud and rape. It is reported that he had faked his death so that he could continue with his calculative moves of committing the crimes. Thabo had also been living with a fake identity which enabled him to scam individuals and businesses. His story has since been topping trending lists on social media with many people giving their opinions on the alleged fugitive.
On a recent episode of DJ Sbu’s podcast with Penual Mlotshwa as a guest, the DJ sang Thabo’s praises by complimenting him on how smart and organised he was.
“He is a king, man. That’s dope. He was hosting seminars from jail, on Zoom….he’s a king! That’s dope! I wouldn’t say he is a notorious criminal,” DJ Sbu said.
Mlotshwa then responded saying, “He was scamming and stealing people’s money!” Sbu then hit back with a question asking Penual how he knew that he was scamming and stealing, to which Penuel replied, “Those are the reports it’s not my…”.
Tweeps have since hit back at his comments calling him careless, with other tweeps saying that he should be sensitive to the feelings of the victims’ families.
