Award-winning comedian and writer Tsitsi Chiumya has stepped into the world of fatherhood, welcoming his first child with girlfriend, actress Gina Koffman. The entertainer, known for his sharp wit and relatable humor, shared his excitement about this new chapter with Daily Sun.
The 30-year-old from Lebowakgomo, Limpopo, described becoming a father as both thrilling and unfamiliar. “It feels good to be a father. It’s a new way to flex whatever is happening in my life,” Tsitsi told Daily Sun.
With his usual sense of humor, Tsitsi joked about using fatherhood as a way to “brag” to other dads. “Anything good that happens, I want to show it off,” he said, laughing.
While embracing his new role, Tsitsi admits he’s learning as he goes. “A lot of people give you advice, but then you realise that some of it doesn’t apply to your situation. There are certain things I went through that I don’t want my child to experience. It’s a journey of understanding and breaking cycles,” he explained.
As co-host of the Popcorn and Cheese Podcast, Tsitsi has always found humor in life’s challenges, and fatherhood is no exception. “Even the most serious things have a funny side to them. Being a father is a big responsibility, but I don’t want to make it boring by being too serious. I want raising a child to be fun, and I hope my son sees the humour in life as I do,” he said.
Tsitsi also shared some lighthearted moments from his newborn son’s early days. “I can’t wait for him to start talking. Right now, his neck is still too flimsy, and every time I pick him up, his head flops around. I’m looking forward to seeing him grow, walk, make choices, and go to school. I just want to be present and witness his journey,” he added.
Tsitsi’s son, named Selemo, has brought a new sense of joy and purpose to the comedian’s life, and he’s excited for the future as he navigates this new journey of fatherhood.
