As the acclaimed Mzansi Magic show “Shaka iLembe” shoots its highly anticipated second season, it has come to light that a few weeks ago, the production was marred by a tragic incident of alleged food poisoning. According to ZiMoja, this incident resulted in the deaths of two members of the production team, sending shockwaves through the cast and crew.

One of the deceased was an assistant make-up artist, while the identity of the second victim remains undisclosed. “The entire production team is in shock,” revealed a source close to the situation. “Everyone is panicking, especially the big names that made the show a success. It’s bad, everyone hopes that the show is not highly affected,”

The first season of “Shaka iLembe” received rave reviews and broke viewership records, but the producers now fear that this tragic incident could overshadow the success of the upcoming season.

Adding to the distress, a family member of one of the deceased has demanded accountability and closure. “We just want to know why our child died the way she did, and why nothing has been done. Nobody is taking responsibility,” they told ZiMoja.

Initially, Mzansi Magic denied any occurrence of food poisoning on set. However, Portia Hlongwane from Mzansi Magic later stated that the make-up artist was already unwell before arriving on set. “She was already sick before she came to the set of ‘Shaka iLembe’,” Hlongwane said when pressed for comment.

As the production moves forward amidst this tragic backdrop, the team and fans alike are left hoping that the series can overcome this setback and continue its success.
