In the vibrant world of Amapiano music, the journey of TNK MusiQ stands as a testament to perseverance, talent, and the power of mentorship. Comprising Thabo “T-Man” Ndlovu and Siseko Kyle Njengo, this dynamic duo has skyrocketed to fame with their infectious beats and catchy melodies.
Their path to success was paved with hard work and determination. According to ZiMoja, before their breakthrough, Thabo and Kyle spent years working as cleaners at various clubs, driven by their passion for music. “We did this to be close to the music, celebrities, and to DJ whenever we got a chance,” recalls Thabo. “We would do anything…to get people to listen to our music,” he adds.
Their lives took a transformative turn with the release of their hit single, “Bells,” which propelled them into the spotlight. Despite their proximity to Mr JazziQ’s Junk Park nightclub, where they worked, opportunities to collaborate with him never materialized. “But it’s all God’s timing,” reflects Thabo. “Maybe one day it will happen, no pressure.”
In the interview they also shared that, “Unlike other duos that have split, TNK MusiQ remains steadfast in their partnership. “We won’t ever split up. We believe in talking through our issues,” asserts Kyle. With a friendship forged in high school and a shared passion for music, they have weathered challenges and emerged stronger.
Their commitment to their partnership extends to their music as well. “We don’t want to confuse people with solo projects. We are good as a duo and that is how we want to keep it,” explains Thabo.
As they continue to make waves in South Africa, TNK MusiQ sets their sights on international acclaim. “We are ready for the next move now, and to go abroad,” affirms Kyle, signaling their ambition to conquer new horizons and spread their music worldwide.
