The official trailer for “Skeleton Coast” has premiered at the Festival de Cannes, setting the stage for a gripping adventure. The film follows a group of African scientists who arrive on Namibia’s Skeleton Coast in search of Blunamite, a legendary, never-before-seen gem. Their quest takes a dark turn when one of them is found dead, leaving the group to question whether one among them is the murderer or if the sinister coast itself is to blame.
Shot entirely in Namibia, the movie features a stellar cast including South African stars Cindy Mahlangu as Sasha and Thapelo Mokoena as Lerato. Namibian actress Tjuna Daringo shines as Samantha, with additional talent from Ghana, making this a true Pan-African production.
The film is set for release on June 30, 2024. Sharing the trailer on Instagram, Thapelo Mokoena expressed his pride in the project: “Worked with the Globe on this project. A perfect Pan-African Dream project, all shot in the land of the brave Namibia. Love to the amazing Crew & Cast mates on this project. This is the beauty of our Africa, here is our film! I can’t wait for you to see the Full Story.” He also extended special thanks to co-star Cindy Mahlangu.
“Skeleton Coast” promises a mix of suspense, mystery, and the supernatural, making it one of the most anticipated films of the year.
