‘They’re Jealous People With An Agenda,’ Says Mfundi Vundla On SAFTAs! Mfundi Vundla has become one of the moist controversial figures in television. It seems every time he does an interview he ends up insulting or bashing someone.

The latest to receive Vunda’s slander is the SAFTAs organization. This comes after Generations: The Legacy and Muvhango did not get shortlisted for most popular TV soap/telenovela category for the 12th annual South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas).

“We are not interested in those awards. They are not run properly; it’s jealous people with an agenda. How can I be on the panel of judges and judge another soapie? How can Mfundi Vundla judge Scandal!? Why should I be put in such a position while I am associated with Generations? It’s not fair and it doesn’t make sense,” Vundla said.

The TV mogul went on to sat the SAFTAs need to learn and copy international film festivals and get an international chair for the awards.

“You have a chairman who is South African. Why not get someone from the BBC or BET? [They] need someone independent and from outside who will look at [the entry] with a fresh eye and not someone with an agenda. This thing is not run properly and we will not be part of it,”
