The Soil’s Ntsika Ngxanga Explains Why He’s Going Solo! The one third of the award winning group is taking a break from The Soil to focus on his personal project.
Ntsika recently shared why he felt the need to release music on his own. “I kept getting dreams from June last year until December where I was alone with my grandfather. In the dream I would hear songs playing in the background,” he revealed.
His debut single, Awundiva, featuring Vusi Nova is about his wife of five years. “Even this single was given to me. I was at a rehearsal when I just started singing it to myself in an empty hall with my eyes closed. I couldn’t believe the song had come from nowhere,” Ntsika shared.
This does not mean the group is calling it quits, they are all taking a temporary break and will release a full album in 2019. “We will be releasing a single titled Korobela on 28 September and we will work on our personal projects until we are ready to drop our full album in 2019.”
Ntsika however admitted that he was nervous about releasing a solo project.
“Working in a group you have two people to back you when the creativity runs out, now I’ll be all alone. I rely on myself to make it work and keep the creativity going. It’s time I prove to myself I can do this on my own.”
