Do you want to feel like a queen for just one evening? Then on your next trip, get a room at the hotel of kings’ choice. Here are 8 chic hotels where the monarchs sometimes stay. Maybe you’ll meet one of them.

Château La Roque, La Roque-sur-Perne, France

Prince William, Duchess Kate Middleton and their children, George and Charlotte, spent their summer vacations in this pretty hotel in 2016. The word “chateau” in the name isnt accidental – there really used to be a castle here, and it was built back in the 11th century. Today only a monumental stone building reminds of the Middle Ages, and inside the hotel, guests are offered five luxurious modern rooms with all conveniences. Due to the small size of the hotel you can truly feel like royalty resting in seclusion.

The chamber castle is surrounded by a green garden and on the terrace overlooking the valley there is a swimming pool, where you can relax betting at a bet app in the sultry summer and refresh your Prosecco. By the way, despite its size, this remarkable hotel has an excellent Provencal restaurant where you can taste the local wine.

Hassler Roma, Rome, Italy

The Hassler Roma is one of the most famous hotels in Rome and has hosted many royalty. The hotel located in the heart of the city was chosen by Prince Charles and Princess Diana, King Gustav VI Adolf of Sweden, Prince Felix of Luxembourg, and King Juan Carlos I of Spain. And Prince Rainier III of Monaco even spent several days here during his honeymoon with Grace Kelly.

This is a truly chic hotel: huge rooms, amazing views of the city, sauna, Turkish bath, massage, gym. If that’s not enough for you, there’s one of Rome’s best restaurants, the Michelin-starred Imàgo.

Le Meurice, Paris, France

Le Meurice is worth going to experience the true luxury of Paris. History was made here: chic balls and fashion shows were held and the richest and most famous guests stayed in the presidential suites. King Paul I of Greece and his wife Frederica the Greek, Duke Edward VIII of Windsor and his wife Wallis, Prince Nikola I of Montenegro, Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi of Iran, King Philip of Belgium.

In 2000, 160 rooms and suites were completely renovated, and today it combines the magnificent architecture of the XVIII century and modern comfort. If you want to feel like you’re in a real palace, choose the Royal Suite on the seventh floor: 500 square meters, high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, antiques and great views of the city. And, of course, you can’t do without the two-Michelin-starred restaurant.

Round Hill Hotel & Villas, Montego Bay, Jamaica

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stayed at this hotel in Jamaica in 2017: it hosted the wedding of Harry’s friend, Tom Inskip and Lana Hughes-Young. And you have to admit that the location is excellent: the Round Hill Hotel & Villas is very romantic, quite secluded, but there is enough space for all the guests. There are 36 rooms in the main building and 27 separate cottages. They are all on the shore of a picturesque bay with a private beach, pools, and restaurants.

Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa, Conca dei Marini, Italy

One of the first people to appreciate this romantic hotel was Prince Albert II of Monaco and Princess Charlene in 2012, even before it officially opened. In the 17th century it was a monastery, and today it’s a luxurious five-star hotel. Just imagine: high coast, a beautiful medieval building, stunning views from the windows.

The monastic asceticism of the building plays on the contrast with the modern interior. It’s perfect for a romantic weekend: spacious cozy rooms, private small beach, huge bathrooms by the window overlooking the sea. The spa is located under the medieval vaults, and in the restaurant you can taste Italian cuisine, local delicacies and wines from the ancient wine cellar. By the way, the reviews confirm that your peace won’t be disturbed: the hotel is adult only.

Llangoed Hall, Bronliss, UK

It is said that Prince Charles spends a week every year in this historic hotel. One of the rooms even has a framed thank-you letter from him hanging in it. No wonder that the prince likes to rest here, the place is really wonderful: 7 hectares of gardens and fields, an old stone house, comfortable and cozy rooms. By the way, the prices are very reasonable: if you want to relax in a royal hotel, but are not ready for a luxury vacation, come to Llangoed Hall.

The activities on offer are traditionally British: falconry, clay target shooting and fishing. A traditional Welsh breakfast is included in the room rate, and dinner is offered at the two AA Rosette award-winning restaurant.
