Thandeka Responds to Hygiene Backlash on Big Brother Mzansi

Viewers of Big Brother Mzansi Season 6 were left shocked this week as housemate Thandeka became the centre of controversy over her hygiene habits in the kitchen.

The drama started when videos showed Thandeka doing her skincare routine in the kitchen. While some viewers had already questioned her steaming her face there, things escalated when she washed her face over a sink full of dirty dishes. Even though one side of the double sink was empty, she chose to rinse her face over the side filled with dishes. Many viewers felt this was unhygienic, especially since the kitchen sink is a shared space.

During last night’s episode, host Smash confronted Thandeka. She defended herself, saying, “Goggling I never goggled. Washing my face absolutely. Some people wash even a baby in the sink. I didn’t come here with a dirty face or something like that. “

She also explained why she dried her wig using the oven. “We didn’t have hair dryers… it wasn’t in the thing, (oven) it was outside, I just wanted the heat protruding out. The dishes were not even clean, you can wash it.”
