Thabiso Sikwane’s memorial service at 3C Ministries in Irene, Centurion, was more than a solemn occasion—it was a vibrant celebration of her life, one that honoured her immense contribution to the entertainment industry and the deep, personal impact she had on those around her.
Reported by TshisaLIVE, Oskido, a legendary figure in South African music, sent in a touching video tribute. He reflected on meeting Thabiso in the 1990s, during their collaborative work in the music industry. “They became family to me,” he said, pausing to gather his thoughts. “It’s hard to see her leave us, especially when it seemed like they were coming back together as a family. What I admired most about Thabiso and Fresh was how they showed us that even in their differences, they could co-parent and build a family with love, respect, and grace.”
Carol Bouwer, Thabiso’s close friend and former media personality turned businesswoman, took to the stage, her voice emotional as she opened in song. She reminisced about their last conversation, expressing the deep void left by her friend’s passing. “It is a privilege to honour someone like Thabiso. The sadness of not being able to see you again, Thabiso, is countered by the privilege of knowing you lived an exemplary life. Speaking about you evokes only good memories in our hearts.”
Former Kaya FM MD Greg Maloka also delivered a heartfelt tribute, sharing the disbelief he felt upon hearing the news of her passing. “When I got the message of her passing it didn’t make sense. It still doesn’t. I thought about the babies. I thought about Thato. I thought about all of us who will experience this loss. What she gave was a lot and we are eternally grateful to have had this time with her.”
Actress Kgomotso Christopher, Thabiso’s cousin, shared touching memories of their years together. “Thabiso could play different roles, she could wear different hats and she did all those roles exceptionally well but her most beloved and cherished role was being a mom to her children.”
