The late radio icon Thabiso Sikwane will be cremated in a private ceremony, as announced by her family. In a statement released on Wednesday, September 4, the family confirmed the details of her memorial service and funeral, which will take place on Friday, September 6, 2023, at 3C Ministries Church in Irene, Centurion, starting at 9 a.m.

The family expressed their desire for a vibrant celebration of Thabiso’s life, asking mourners to wear “African bright” attire instead of traditional black. “The dress code is African bright, strictly no black,” the family stated, emphasising the importance of honouring Thabiso’s legacy with colour and joy.

Thabiso Sikwane, a beloved voice on radio stations such as SAfm, PowerFM, and KayaFM 959, passed away on Saturday, August 31. Her death, which came just a month after she celebrated her 50th birthday on July 3, shocked and saddened the nation, particularly as it marked a heartbreaking close to Women’s Month.

Since the news of her passing, social media has been flooded with heartfelt tributes from colleagues, friends, and fans alike, all remembering the warmth, wisdom, and charisma that Thabiso brought to the airwaves. As her loved ones prepare to say their final goodbyes, they invite those who knew and admired her to join in celebrating the life of a remarkable woman who left an indelible mark on South African radio.

RIP:

Thabiso Sikwane’s memorial and funeral service will be held on Friday, 6 September 2024, at 3C Ministries Church in Irene, Centurion.

Time — starting at 9AM.

A private cremation ceremony will be held with the family at a later date.
