Reality TV star Terry Treasure, known for her stint on Big Brother Mzansi and as an MTV Base TV host, is making waves as a businesswoman. Terry, whose real name is Gugu Refiloe Bonga, recently opened the first store for her skincare brand, Treasure Skin, in Sunninghill, north of Johannesburg.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Terry shared how she felt about the big move. “I was pretty nervous. Opening a store is a big deal. Just last year, I thought of closing the business, but something told me not to. And now it feels good to have my own store,” she said.

The idea for Treasure Skin began when Terry’s Big Brother Mzansi fans asked about her skincare routine. “I had problematic skin, tried many products, and found a formulation in 2022 for acne and hyperpigmentation. It worked. I found a supplier for people of colour who knew how to fight acne and hyperpigmentation,” Terry explained.

She never imagined her life would take this turn. “Five or six years ago, I thought I’d be doing makeup for productions and ads full-time. I didn’t expect this. It shows the power of believing in yourself,” Terry reflected.

Treasure Skin offers a range of products designed to help individuals with acne-prone skin and those struggling with hyperpigmentation. Their facial products aim to reduce acne, brighten the skin, and reduce hyperpigmentation, helping customers achieve clearer skin and boost their confidence.

Looking ahead, Terry has big plans for the future. “This year, I’m focused on building the business. In 2026, we’ll explore expansion plans,” she said.
