Tbo Touch is in hot water and it looks really bad for the Metro FM DJ. More speculation has come up as to why he was taken off air. Turns out it’s because he clashed with his bosses at Metro FM and got into a physical confrontation with one of his producers. Tbo Touch Reportedly Costs Metro FM R15Million.
The “Rush Hour” host reportedly refused to refer to the show as “Hyundai Rush Hour” who are the sponsors of the show, he chose to refer to it as just Rush Hour. Two senior SABC officials confirmed the station lost at least R15-million in advertising when the DJ refused to do a live read.
“As a result of his attitude and refusal to mention them as the segment sponsor Hyundai terminated the contract and the station lost R15-million”, one of the unnamed SABC officials told a local publication.
T-Bo Touch also introduced a new segment Gospel Replenish on Monday, allegedly without consulting or obtaining permission. Tbo Touch reportedly got his friend Fikile Mbalula to call SABC head of radio Lesley Ntloko and apologize on his behalf.
